AP Source: Cardinals, Iupati agree to 5-year deal
TEMPE, Ariz. (AP) — A person familiar with the negotiations says the Arizona Cardinals and free agent guard Mike Iupati have agreed on a five-year, $40 million contract with $22.5 million guaranteed.
The person asked not to be identified because the deal has not officially been announced. Announcement of the agreement is pending a physical, which is planned on Wednesday.
The 6-foot-5, 331-pound lineman has played all five of his NFL seasons with the San Francisco 49ers. He is a three-time Pro Bowl player and made the All-Pro team in 2012.
Iupati is considered one of the best run blockers in the NFL and he joins a team that was last in rushing last season.
